In Nov 2019 I ordered a Ford Transit AWD wagon for our growing family. Only took 13 months For the Ford factory to build and deliver. Finally picked up Dec 14th 2020 from Titus Will Ford in Tacoma. Highly recommend Ross @ Titus Will Ford for transit orders!
The biggest cause for the delay is the Power Sliding Door (PSD) option. Factory was delayed in releasing and then Covid-19 not only shut down the factory, but also messed up the supply chains for the door mechanisms.
We opted for the 12 passenger version. Several reasons, we wanted safe and legal seating for anyone being transported in the van, including airbags. All rear seats are removable so we can have a modular approach to whatever our needs may be.
So far, have painted the wheels black, and installed a Flatline Van Co. Low Pro roof rack (Ford Transit Mid Roof) outside. Super easy installation and a great rack.
Kids put up some LED strip lights for Christmas, powered by a Jackery 500. The lights change to the music and work pretty good so far. Temporary use now but may use for campsite lighting down the road.
So much to do and explore. Will post updates on our "build" below in the blog. Let us know any ideas or suggestions to make this awesome van more awesome-er!
I'll try to provide updates on the van, still to be named, and our adventures and buildout projects here.
